Hey guys, sorry to butt in on your post WykidEH2, but everbody here seems pretty knowledgable about this stuff I thought I would just ask.
first off I put the gsr kit on my b16, I am running stock injectors(for now) and a walbro 255 pump, also a zydne to help control things. but I am running the stock throttle body which isn't opening up all the way.
we tuned it a little last night but it still isn't putting much power to the ground, I think I might have gained about 10 hp by putting the charger in the car. hehe I know its supposed to be putting out more than that.
I know I need more tunning, and I hopefully will be picking up a gsr throttle body soon, so what I was wondering, is that it?? I mean why isn't this thing more responsive??
I hope you guys can help, thanks.

First, how did you use a GSR manifold on a B16A head ??? Second, how did you connect the throttle cable to the T/B ??? Maybe some pics would be helpful. Obviously, if you are not opening the T/B all of the way, the computer will never offer up the proper amount of fuel and spark advance to make big power... not to mention you are choking the blower out by limiting the airflow !!!

Your right pics would be great, I will see about getting some up as soon as I can. I did end up getting the GSR throttle body and that helped out tremendously, very powerful.
I took it to a dyno today for some tunning and so forth, and after the first pull we noticed something very odd, right at 6200 rpm boost went bye bye and my power went flat. it would make serouis power right up to 6200 then flat.
now I did happen to take it to a dyno before the charger and my numbers were pretty strong I think at 150hp and 111 ftlbs, to the wheels. not bad.
now after the charger...153hp and 128. now those numbers look bad but honestly the car feels totally different and is really fast until about 6200. on the dyno sheet,(which I hope to get scanned soon) if you would keep going past 6200 it looks like it go straight up to about 195, which is were it should be.
I am running the zdyne and we did play with that quite a bit, but it really didn't make any difference in that 6200 flat line. the only thing the could come up with is that maybe one of the belts was slipping.
I am not sure, I am going to fiddle with a couple of things on it tomm. and we shall see, But any advice would be appriciated.
also I am not sure what you mean how did the manifold bolt up, I was pretty sure that the GSR and the B16 shared nearly identical heads, so the bolt pattern on the manifolds are the same. But anyhow it did bolt up with no modifcation, and so far is running ok.

The Type R and B16 heads share the same bolt pattern. The GSR head is the "ugly" duckling of the bunch so to speak. You sure it wasn't from an "R" setup?

hmm now that you mention it, I think that it did come off a spoon motor. I know what you are thinking. what the hell is this guy doing boosting a spoon motor, either that or, ya right a spoon motor. but I assure you it was a spoon type r, and I didn't even think about that, all I know is it bolted up and its the bigger blower, so I guess your right it must be the type r. hmmmm
so what do you guys think, belt slipping?? need to put bigger injectors, blower needs a rebuild???
thanks

ok well the virdic is in, it was belt slippage, and now that everything is tight, it seems to want to peek at 9lbs. is that normal??? not like I am complaining or anything, this car is a rocket. but I was just curious. wow pulls really hard all the eay to red line now. what a monster. taking it to the track weds night so I am hoping for a low 13 or high 12. I think its possible. we shall see. wish me luck and thank guys for all your help.
